In Washington, DC, our nation’s capital, history has been in the making for over 200 years. The only question now is how long will it take you?
Alongside the National Mall and through Washington’s historic corridors, past Washington, Lincoln and Jefferson, and along the Potomac River, make Washington, DC your marathon or half-marathon destination this spring.
Whether it is for 13.1 or 26.2 miles, we invite you to celebrate the culture and history of our nation’s capital as you prepare for a monumental destination in the heart of the United States of America.
Secure your spot in the 2011 SunTrust National Marathon or Half-Marathon TODAY! Register online and start training to make the SunTrust National Marathon and Half Marathon your destination in 2011.
The field is limited to the first 15,000 marathon entries, so register TODAY!
You must have a qualifying time PRIOR to registering for either race.
Please see our Qualifying Standards page to see if you qualify for our event.
Registration begins at 12:01am EST July 4th, 2010.
Online Registration will close at 11:59pm EST on March 20th, 2011 or until the field of 15,000 is sold out.
All price periods below begin at 12:01am EST and end at 11:59pm EST respectively.
You have until 11:59pm EST December 31st, 2010 to make any changes to your registration including your bib name and race selection.
If you are making a change in races, there is a difference in entry fee if you move from the half marathon to the full marathon ($15.00). There is no refund for switching from the marathon down to the half marathon.
There is absolutely a "No Refund/Transfer/Deferment" Policy for this event. No exceptions.
WARNING!!! Do not attempt to sell or give away your bib number/registration. The SunTrust National Marathon maintains a very strict NO TRANSFER policy. Particular participant information is attached to each bib number, and marathon staff cannot be held responsible for medical liability or other errors should a runner participate under another individual's predetermined bib number. Any attempt to sell/transfer bib numbers will result in your entry being removed from our event, and your registration funds forfeited.
HALF MARATHON RATES AND PERIODS:
All price periods below begin at 12:01am EST and end at 11:59pm EST
July 4th, 2010 till July 6th, 2010 - $55.00
July 7th, 2010 till July 11th, 2010 - $65.00
July 12th, 2010 till September 30th, 2010 - $70.00
October 1st, 2010 till December 31st, 2010 - $85.00
Jauary 1st, 2010 till March 20th (Late Registration, Please visit Health & Fitness Expo ) - $95.00
Awards:
All participants will receive a technical running shirt and personalized race bib. All marathon and half-marathon finishers will receive a medal.
Cash prizes will be awarded to the top five men and top five women finishers in each race.
Awards will also be given to the top three finishers in each age group for men and women in each race.
Age Group Divisions (full & half marathon) - Awards for Age Groups will be mailed out.
• Clydesdale: Men over 200 lbs.
• Athena: Women over 160 lbs.

Please submit a complete running resume, including any and all recent top performances in the last 12 months, as well as your racing schedule leading up to March, 2011.

The Official Race Photographer of the SunTrust National Marathon and CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield National Half Marathon is Brightroom, Inc.Brightroom, Inc. is an international professional event photography company that enables event participants to view, share and order high quality pictures from sports and corporate events.
