Course Description
Designed for corporations, running clubs, and other groups who want to participate in the Inaugural Team Relay as a team. Relay categories are OPEN, Run Club, Corporate, Family and Active Military. There is no gender requirement by team. There is a cap of 500 Relay Teams in 2010 – so get your team together and register early. There is no RACE DAY registration. Individual Relay legs will be 5 miles, 5 miles and and 3.1 miles.
ALL relay teams must meet our required pace times and WILL be asked to leave the course by Race Officials if falling behind the required pace times. Teams must complete the entire race in less than 2.5 hours.

Relay #1 must be to hand-off at Mile 5 no later than 8:00am.
Relay #2 must be at hand-off at Mile 10 no later than 8:50am.
ALL RELAY TEAMS must be finished by 9:30am.
All Relay team members are required to pick-up their packet at the Race EXPO on Friday March 19, 2010 at the D.C. Armory. Team member substitutions are available at the EXPO but not on Race Day.
Leg 1 Runners start at the same time with all participants – 7am. Relay Team will start with the Half Marathoners.
Return to the Finish Area from Mile 5 is best accomplished via the METRO stations at Farragut West (Blue Line) – via the Blue/Orange Line to Armory/Stadium Station.
Leg 2 Runners – Start at Mile 5, run to Mile 10. The start of this leg is best reached via the METRO stations at either Farragut West (Blue/Orange Line). There is NO adjacent vehicle parking, and access to the area is severely restricted once the race begins.
Please plan accordingly – this trip on the METRO will take time – do not miss your exchange.
Return to the Finish Area is best accomplished via the New York Ave/Florida Ave/Galludet U METRO Station (Red Line) to Metro Center and there transferring to the Blue/Orange Line to the Stadium/Armory Station. There is NO adjacent vehicle parking, and access to the area is severely restricted once the race begins. The New York/Florida Ave/Galludet METRO Station is located approximately ½ mile from the Leg 2 exchange area.
Leg 3 Runners – Start at Mile 10 to the finish at RFK Stadium – LOT 3. Access to the start of the last leg is best accomplished via the METRO at New York Ave/Florida Ave/Galludet U Station (Red Line). It is approximately ½ mile walk from the METRO Station to the Mile 10 start point at No Capitol Street and M Street. There is NO adjacent vehicle parking, and access to the area is severely restricted once the race begins.
Please plan accordingly – this trip on the METRO and walk will take time – do not miss your exchange.
Beginning at 7:00AM on Saturday, March 20 there will be rolling street closures throughout the 2010 SunTrust National Marathon course.
